Boys Shoe Buying Guide

Posted in | No Comments »

Thanks for visiting http://www.lovelifeandhugs.com. This site is all about boys shoes.  We like a good bargain but what good is a bargain if the shoe fits.   We love our boys *  but when it comes to buying shoes, I have learned my lessons and thought it might be helpful to put a quick guide. I’ll keep it short and simple:

Do you know your boy’s shoe size? Get the feet measured

The easiest way to that is at a shoe store, whether at your local shoe store or at the mall.  You can also try  is at home but this is often more complicated.

Busy Mom Advice – Shop Online

Shop online with your kids.  Now that you know your boy’s shoe size for the next 6+ month, shop online! Take the stress out of shoe shopping.  For smaller kids, you can basically choose almost any shoe. Of course

Do They Fit

Have the boy  try them on once the shoes arrive.  Ask your boy not once, but at least 3 times if the shoes are comfortable. The first time they may say yes so the can continue with what they are doing.  By the third time they’ll tell if they fit.

European vs. American Shoes Sizes

There are some great online shoe stores that can help you with the conversions, here is a general chart:

USA EURO Foot Length
1 16 3 1/2"
2 17 3 7/8"
2 1/2 18 4 1/8"
3 1/2 19 4 3/8"
4 20 4 5/8"
5 21 4 7/8"
6 22 5 1/8"
6 1/2 23 5 3/8"
7 1/2 24 5 5/8"
8 25 5 7/8"
9 26 6 1/4"
10 27 6 1/2"
10 1/2 28 6 3/4"
11 1/2 29 7"
12 30 7 1/4"
13 31 7 1/2"
1A 32 7 3/4"
1 1/2 33 8"
2A 34 8 1/4"
3A 35 8 1/2"
4A 36 8 3/4"
5A 37 9"

How many different shoes does a boy need?

This of course depends on where you live and the time of year it is. Generally speaking, kids should have at least a pair of sneakers or athletic shoes, dress shoes and shoes that are right for the season.  It adds up, so bargain hunting can offset some of the costs.  Take advantage of sales.  eBay.com and Shoes.com offer  great deals and of course, check out this site.

And last but not least: Here is my motto, if I buy a new pair of shoes an old one must go. Whatever you do, give them away, sell them but have them leave the house.  Tip, they don’t do it by themselves, you have to help them!

Happy Shoe Hunting,

Julie
